HIGH POINT/STOKES STATE FOREST
Scott Barnes and Linda Mack
Friday June 14 (7:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.)
Beat the weekend crowds with a weekday trip at one of the Garden State's richest breeding bird locations. Lots of nesting songbirds, raptors, and other surprises including a great chance for Ruffed Grouse, Common Raven, and Cerulean Warbler. Other birds we’ll seek out include Acadian and Alder Flycatchers, Blackburnian, Hooded, Prairie, and other warblers. Just a beautiful area to spend a day birding!
Location: Meet at High Point State Park Office (HQ) parking lot on Rt. 23 just south of the park’s main entrance, which is approximately 4 miles south of Port Jervis, NY or 7 miles north of the town of Sussex, NJ.
