On Thursday, January 3rd, the Hightstown High School DECA Chapter competed in District Competition at Kean University against hundreds of central New Jersey business students. In December participants were administered online tests by New Jersey DECA to evaluate their knowledge on a variety of business topics. Concentrations included: marketing, finance, management, entrepreneurship, and hospitality and tourism. At Kean University members completed role-play events in their subject area. Students were rated on their performance by business owners and industry professionals. Leading the Hightstown team were advisors Kelsey Petrasek and Kelly Gaskill.

Hightstown is pleased to announce that the recipients will be moving onto the New Jersey DECA State Competition, taking place at the Atlantic City Harrah’s Resort and Spa from March 4th - 6th.
