Hillsborough High School’s freshman students silently watched the man on the school auditorium stage Oct. 28, though laughter occasionally broke their silence. The man, John Morello, put on a yellow jacket to play David, a smart-mouthed teenager addicted to Ecstasy and prescription drugs.
A hearing for motions filed by the township requesting dismissal of litigation between Hillsborough Township and Hillsborough Properties has been moved to Nov. 20.

Every Tuesday at 7 a.m., about 18 professionals meet at the Royce Brook Golf Club, on Hamilton Road, to eat breakfast, talk about their businesses and act as sales representatives for each other.
Each year, on Memorial Day, the township hosts a breakfast to honor local veterans of past wars.

Hillsborough voters returned Republicans Carl Suraci and Bob Wagner for three-year terms on the Township Committee, Tuesday.
To comply with newly mandated regulations from the Federal Trade Commission, the Township Committee unanimously approved a resolution Oct. 27 to adopt a new Identity Theft policy that, among other changes, will require certain township personnel to undergo training about awareness of fraud.

With the district already planning next year’s budget and the Board of Education asking for public input on the budget one board member is already considering whether certain district programs meet program goals.

Open space purchase advances Hillsborough Police Chief Paul A. Kaminsky issued a statement last week reminding residents of the township’s curfew ordinance regarding Halloween, as well as offering safety suggestions for children marking the holiday.
A Stephen Way resident was charged with several drug offenses last week after a two-month long narcotics investigation during which the defendant allegedly sold marijuana to an undercover detective.
