Adult care center to offer respite opportunity for caregivers

MIDDLETOWN — We Care Adult Care will host a free “Caregiver’s Day Off” from 9:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Feb. 18 at its location in the Union Square Mall, 500 Route 35, Middletown.

The event will provide caregivers with an opportunity for respite while a loved one can spend quality time at the adult care center and enjoy activities, such as trivia, armchair
exercise and bingo. A continental breakfast and catered lunch will also be provided.

“In today’s society, many spouses and adult children are caring for a spouse or parent [who] may have physical limitations and/or memory impairment. The stress can be immense, and we want to help caregivers enjoy a day off,” said Tracey L. Wolfman, We Care Adult Care administrator, in a press release.
