Sydney R. Garofolo of Freehold was among 16 members of the University of Scranton, Pa., Class of 2019 who graduated from its Business Leadership Honors Program. Students in this program explore the basic theories and concepts of leadership through special seminars and courses in management, ethics, strategy and analysis, in addition to field trips to learn from top executives and projects in leadership, service and mentoring. Sydney graduated magna cum laude, she was the recipient of the Excellence in Operations Management Award and she earned a bachelor’s degree in operations and information management. She served as a Student Government senator, chair of the Athletics Programming Committee and as a Royal Ambassador. Sydney will work at Barnes and Noble as a sales and operation integration planning analyst. She is a graduate of Freehold High School, Freehold Borough.

Monica Masterson of Freehold graduated from the University of Rochester, N.Y., with a Bachelor of Science degree in biological sciences: cell and development. She graduated summa cum laude. Monica is the child of Margaret Masterson, and is a graduate of Communications High School, Wall Township.

Landon J. Patmore of Manalapan completed a Bachelor of Science degree in software engineering, cum laude, in spring 2019 at the State University of New York, Oswego, N.Y.

DeSales University, Center Valley, Pa., has named the following area residents to the dean’s list for the 2019 spring semester: from Freehold – Victoria N. Lebioda and Jillian N. Praet; from Manalapan – Briana K. Marter and Julia T. Marter; and from Marlboro – Jessica M. Fernandez.

Bryant University, Smithfield, R.I., has named the following area residents to the dean’s list for the 2019 spring semester: Louis DiBlasi, class of 2022, from Manalapan, and Alexa Koch, class of 2021, from Freehold.

Janelle Hart of Freehold has been named to the dean’s list at Miami University, Oxford, Ohio, for the 2019 spring semester. Janelle is majoring in English: Creative Writing, Media and Culture.

Springfield College, Springfield, Mass., has named Nina McMerty of Freehold to the dean’s list for academic excellence for the 2019 spring term. Nina is studying health science/occupational therapy.

Fairfield University, Fairfield, Conn., has named the following area residents to the dean’s list for the 2019 spring semester: from Colts Neck – Katrina Balzotti and John Gargana; from Freehold – Joshua Dougherty, Kevin Grady, Michelle Jasko, Connor McNamara and Nicholas Reich; and from Manalapan – Shannon McDade and Avery Nocella.

Rochester Institute of Technology, Rochester, N.Y., has named the following local residents to the dean’s list for the 2019 spring semester: Samuel Lipton of Morganville, Jon Novins of Manalapan, Kevin Chelchowski of Manalapan, Muriel Hagge of Freehold, Daniel Santoro of Colts Neck and Matthew Camera of Marlboro.

Melissa R Spadaro of Morganville has earned a Master of Arts in aging studies at Wichita State University, Wichita, Kan.

Jared Bayer of Morganville has been named to the dean’s list for the 2019 spring semester at the University of Delaware, Newark, Del. Jared has graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in fine arts. He is a 2015 graduate of Marlboro High School.

Scott Bayer of Morganville has been named to the dean’s list for the 2019 spring semester at the University of Maryland Business School, College Park, Md. Scott is majoring in finance and accounting. He is a 2018 graduate of Marlboro High School.

Bethany Lin of Manalapan has been named to the dean’s list for the spring 2019 semester at Wheaton College, Wheaton, Ill.

Olivia Handelman of Freehold has been placed on the Gettysburg College, Gettysburg, Pa., dean’s honor list for outstanding academic achievement in the spring 2019 semester.

York College of Pennsylvania, York, Pa., has named the following area residents to the dean’s list for the 2019 spring semester: William Sasso of Freehold and Alexa Scranton of Freehold.

Zachary Freid, the son of Andrea and Keith Freid of Marlboro, has been named to the dean’s list with distinction at Duke University, Durham, N.C., for the 2019 spring semester. Zachary is a freshman majoring in computer science. He is a 2018 graduate of High Technology High School, Lincroft.

Evan Schultz of Colts Neck performed in the recent Muhlenberg College, Allentown, Pa., production of “Bring it On: The Musical.” Evan performed as one of 30 cast or crew members in the production which ran from June 13-30.
