Democratic newcomers Eman El-Badawi and Barbara Rogers have won the two candidate positions to represent Democrats for the Cranbury Township Committee election in November.

During the June 4 primary election, El-Badawi and Rogers defeated incumbent Committeeman Glenn Johnson and newcomer Robert Christopher.

There are two open seats on the ballot in November for the Cranbury Township Committee.

The seats, each a three-year term, are open due to Republican Committeeman Dan Mulligan not seeking re-election and Johnson’s term being up.

The election results are unofficial until they are certified by the county.

El-Badawi appeared to have won her spot to represent Democrats with 253 votes. Rogers received 229 votes.

Johnson received 190 votes and Christopher collected 126 votes.

El-Badawi and Rogers will face off against Republican candidates Evelyn Spann and Walter Wright for the two open seats on the Committee in the November election.

Spann and Wright were the only two republicans on the ballot for the June 4 primary.
