5 Things To Do In Atlantic City

Whether you've been going to Atlantic City for years or are new to the New Jersey hotspot---there's more to Atlantic City than just gambling. Yes, that's why most people go there---but there's also plenty of fun for the whole family. In this article, we're going to look at five things to do in Atlantic City so that everyone can enjoy themselves.

1. Gambling

While we're going to look at a few other things to prove Atlantic City isn't all about those big casinos---they're obviously the main draw. While you shouldn't spend your whole time at the blackjack tables and slot machines, some of the best casino fun east of the Mississippi can be had in Atlantic City. And if you can't get out to the casino anytime soon, you can still enjoy the fun of many similar games from the comfort of your home. Check out for more info on exactly where.

If you enjoy a bit of roulette, a hand of poker or a pull on a one armed bandit, there's something for every type of gambler in Atlantic City. Remember, you don't have to spend your whole time on the casino floor, but there's some great fun to be had.

Unlike many smaller casino resorts, Atlantic City has plenty of live poker options so you can play Texas Hold'em and a range of other games against other players just like you, rather than the house. Have you seen the film Rounders? Some of that was set in Atlantic City.

2. Eating

Like many big casino resorts, Atlantic City has a load of different eating options to suit almost every taste. Many of these restaurants are based in the casinos themselves. They offer competitive prices and great food to try and attract more gamblers into the building-if you have been enjoying yourself on the casino floor, you might even get "comped" a free meal!

But you don't have to gamble at all to enjoy the great food on offer in Atlantic City.

3. Shopping

Atlantic City has a popular central shopping zone as well as a number of popular malls. Tired of gambling and want to unwind in some of your favourite stores? You should be able to find what you're looking for.

4. Live shows

Another way many of the big casinos try and get more people into the city is by hosting some famous bands and other live acts. There are a range of different sized venues in the city and you can enjoy magic shows, comedy acts, boxing fights and more, as well as a range of different musical options.

5. A trip nearby

If you're visiting Atlantic City for more than a few days and have a bit of spare time on your hands, you might want to take a quick road trip for a change of pace and scenery. The fantastic Cape May offers a more relaxed pace of life and a range of old-fashioned shops and restaurants as well as museums and some great beaches.

While gambling is big in Atlantic City, there's more fun to be had for all the family if you know where to look.
