   A 17-year-old male Carteret resident was arrested by South Brunswick police early Sunday morning after allegedly breaking into a township home and stealing a car from the residence before leading police on a foot chase.
   After an arduous four-year battle to protect their neighborhood’s rural characteristics, residents of the Princeton Gate Community turned out to celebrate their victory last week when Middlesex County dedicated the Princeton Gate Nature Preserve.
   South Brunswick police are looking for a connection linking a string of burglaries and attempted break-ins that occurred Monday.
   Voters in South Brunswick fell in line with the rest of the state in electing former U.S. Attorney Chris Christie to the office of governor of New Jersey.
   The township’s Republican Party ended a five-year drought on the Township Council on Tuesday when challenger John O’Sullivan gained a narrow victory over Democratic incumbent Mahesh “Mac” Shah.

   Veterans and civilians alike will come together Wednesday to recognize Veterans Day with a ceremony to honor those who served as part of the military.

   After a life devoted to education, Crossroads North Principal Judy Black will bid farewell to South Brunswick in January as she retires and moves on to the next stage in her life.
   Area runners will hit the streets around South Brunswick High School on Sunday for the fifth annual Run for the Vikings 5K and one-mile Fun Run.
   South Brunswick police arrested an 18-year-old Pennsylvania man on charges he broke into a township residence and was living in the home while the owners were away on vacation.
   South Brunswick residents will head to the polls on Tuesday and cast ballots for candidates on the local, county and state level.
   The South Brunswick Family YMCA is committed to its mission statement of building strong kids, strong families and strong communities.
   This year marks the swan song for Giants Stadium and the last opportunity for the South Brunswick High School Viking Marching Band to perform on the field and it certainly made the most of it.

POLITICS: Democratic officials ponder life with a GOP governor

" I don't expect Democratic municipal officials to be happy but I would prefer they not be stupid. For the good of their towns --not to mention the state-- they need a cooperative relationship with this governor. As for Democratic state legislators-- they barely cooperated with a Democratic governor so I'm not holding my breath. "

" The corruption is pandemic in the State of NJ. One can hope iwith new LT Gov who is a sheriff and new Attorney General rather then the corrupt Jon Corzine and Anne MIlgram who did NOT enforce NJ criminal codes against corrupt officials that things can only improve. "
