Millstone elementary schoolers win recreational boys’ basketball championship

The Jayhawks owned the Millstone Township third/fourth grade recreational basketball league all winter. But they played their best boys’ basketball game in the league’s championship on March 3 at Millstone Township Middle School, beating Team Buckets, 36-24.

Nicholas Pless led the Jayhawks with 22 points. Vincent Filis paced Team Buckets with 18 tallies.

Pless’s teammates, Frankie Varricchio, Jase Amison, Nicholas Pless, Max Glantzberg, Vito Cristino, Evan Italiano and Jeet Sinha, also contributed to the victory, and to the team’s 11-1 campaign. Head coach Matt Pless and assistant coach Kamal Sinha guided the Jayhawks to their memorable season.
