Hedy and Patrick Perna

"30....It's Just a Number" will be the theme for the Perna Dance Center's 30th annual production on June 9th and 10th at Raritan High School in Hazlet, NJ.  Hedy and Patrick Perna are thrilled to be celebrating this milestone in the community with their students, alumni, faculty, staff and of course the many families and friends they have met over the 30 years in Hazlet.

The studio has been celebrating their 30th anniversary since September 2017 with performances in Atlantic City, NJ at the Miss America Show Us Your Shoes parade down the famous AC Boardwalk; a Halloween Thriller Flashmob all around Hazlet and Middletown in October and of course the popular PDC Holiday Troupe that kicks off the holiday season in December for many in Hazlet Twp.

With the announcement of this year's theme, the recital ball starts rolling with costume arrivals and picture weekend but not without more involvement in the community and performances for the students of The Perna Dance Center.  A new 8 week class has started for children with Autism, Down Syndrome, Sensory Processing Disorders and other learning differences and physical challneges, ages 4-6 and ages 7-10. The next session will be starting in April.  Dancers will be performing the half time show for the world famous Globetrotters at Brookdale Community College in Lincroft NJ for the National Dance Foundation on March 1st.  Right before and after recital weekend, PDC dancers will first be heading to Washington DC to perform in the opening and closing production numbers for the National Cherry Blossom Festival Parade.  The dancers will then be Orlando FL at the end of June to show off their dancing skills at Universal Studios for Dance the Universe.

Hedy and Patrick are excited to celebrate their 30th anniversary and look forward to catching up and dancing with as many alumni as possible.  As the saying goes at their studio, "Once a Perna Dancer, Always a Perna Dancer" and this year this motto rings true.
