   Playing in front of a charged Homecoming crowd, the Manville High football team battled North Warren to the wire before coming up on the short end of a 23-20 decision last Friday night at Panfile Stadium.

   In his 20-plus years of coaching and playing the game of football, Manville High head football coach Brett Stibitz says he has never seen worse playing conditions than what his Mustangs were forced to endure in last week’s 21-6 victory at South Hunterdon High School.
   The Manville High boys cross country team, spearheaded by senior Eddie Yakobchuk, recently completed a 5-5 dual meet season and is coming off a 10th-place finish in last week’s Somerset County Championships held at Pleasant Valley Park in Basking Ridge.

POLITICS: Democratic officials ponder life with a GOP governor

" I don't expect Democratic municipal officials to be happy but I would prefer they not be stupid. For the good of their towns --not to mention the state-- they need a cooperative relationship with this governor. As for Democratic state legislators-- they barely cooperated with a Democratic governor so I'm not holding my breath. "

" The corruption is pandemic in the State of NJ. One can hope iwith new LT Gov who is a sheriff and new Attorney General rather then the corrupt Jon Corzine and Anne MIlgram who did NOT enforce NJ criminal codes against corrupt officials that things can only improve. "
