" The main purpose of wildlife agencies must be understood in order to realize that hunting will never lower deer populations. Deer are blamed for DVAs, Lyme disease, crop damage, etc, in fact, the state is to blame. Deer are managed for MSY(maximum sustained yield) in order to supply good hunting opportunities for their only clients: Hunters. Since the state relies on deer as a renewable resource, their cash cow, it is sheer hypocrisy for them to claim that hunters must come to the rescue in order to lower deer populations.
I'm surprised that NJ hunters don't resent DeNicola for taking "their game". "

Louise Wilson of Montgomery

" 31/ Louise, lets see, $60,000,000 in debt and we are still driving on a 1000 foot of dirt road Dutchtown-Zion. This is because of your and Birge's inability to follow through on a standing agreement between Hillsborough and Montgomery to pave unpaved sections of road. This would have been at no cost to Montgomery. Let me repeat - the inability to negotiate a road project previously agreed to with Hillsborough.

What really ticks me off is that Birge wants to move on to bigger things when she can't even get a little road paved that we have to use to get to city hall to pay our taxes that also pays for that ridiculous lake expenditure. We don't need her as a Freeholder after leaving all this debt behind and a dirt road to boot.

That brings to mind the previous comment about Dagget who was the Townships consultant on this lake project. Instead of stonewalling the NJDEP to delay this lake work until a purchaser for the property is found Dagget is probably the one that convinced you to proceed to rebuild the lake to nowhere.

And now Birge wants to do for the County what she did for Montgomery. Good thing we have alterntives. "

POLITICS: Democratic officials ponder life with a GOP governor

Happy Warrior wrote on Nov 7, 2009 6:13 PM:

" I don't expect Democratic municipal officials to be happy but I would prefer they not be stupid. For the good of their towns --not to mention the state-- they need a cooperative relationship with this governor. As for Democratic state legislators-- they barely cooperated with a Democratic governor so I'm not holding my breath. "

" The corruption is pandemic in the State of NJ. One can hope iwith new LT Gov who is a sheriff and new Attorney General rather then the corrupt Jon Corzine and Anne MIlgram who did NOT enforce NJ criminal codes against corrupt officials that things can only improve. "
