    With a win and a tie this past week, the Florence High School field hockey team improved to 14-1-1 on the year and broke into the top 20 ranking in the state.
    With wins over Kingsway, Senaca and Lenape this past week, the Northern Burlington High School volleyball team improved to 15-4 on the year.
    Although the Bordentown High School field hockey team had a 7-8 record at the cutoff to be .500 or better and automatically qualify for the state tournament, the squad will still compete in the Central Jersey Group II event.

POLITICS: Democratic officials ponder life with a GOP governor

" I don't expect Democratic municipal officials to be happy but I would prefer they not be stupid. For the good of their towns --not to mention the state-- they need a cooperative relationship with this governor. As for Democratic state legislators-- they barely cooperated with a Democratic governor so I'm not holding my breath. "

" The corruption is pandemic in the State of NJ. One can hope iwith new LT Gov who is a sheriff and new Attorney General rather then the corrupt Jon Corzine and Anne MIlgram who did NOT enforce NJ criminal codes against corrupt officials that things can only improve. "
