The Bordentown Regional Board of Education is filling a vacancy for a Bordentown City representative.

It’s a temporary position running from March 2025 through December 31, 2025.

Applications are open, with a firm deadline of 11 AM on March 11, 2025.

The Board of Education oversees school district policies, budgets, and programs.

Members help make decisions that affect students, teachers, and taxpayers.

Applicants must be Bordentown City residents or U.S. citizens who have lived in the school district for at least one year and are registered voters in the district.

Candidates cannot have financial contracts with the Board or outstanding claims against it.

They can also not serve as Mayor, be members of the Township Committee, or hold another elected position simultaneously.

Additionally, applicants must meet certain legal and ethical standards.

New Jersey law prohibits individuals with certain criminal convictions from serving on a school board.

All appointed members must pass a criminal history background check through the New Jersey Department of Education within 30 days of taking office.

Submissions must be received by 11 AM on March 11, 2025.
