A 26-year-old Hamilton Township man was charged with receiving stolen property for allegedly having a license plate in his possession that had been reported stolen, following a motor vehicle stop on Route 206 on April 25. During the motor vehicle stop, the officer discovered several license plates from New Jersey and other states for vehicles that were not associated with the man, including the stolen license plate. He was also issued motor vehicle violation summonses, processed and released.
A 44-year-old Hillsborough Township man was arrested on active warrants from the Bound Brook and Readington municipal courts following a motor vehicle stop on Route 206 near Opossum Road on April 25. He was processed and turned over to the Bound Brook Police Department.
A victim was scammed out of $1,000 by a suspect posing as a high school acquaintance. The victim was contacted by the scammer via a social media direct message, who asked to borrow money to help with a family member’s health condition. The victim complied and sent the money. The victim later heard from friends that the acquaintance’s social media account had been hacked. The incident was reported April 24.
Tools valued at $9,000 were reported stolen from a truck parked at a construction site on Scarborough Road between April 18 and April 21.
A 46-year-old Lawrenceville man was charged with driving while intoxicated, refusal to submit to a breath test, delaying traffic, failure to maintain lane, reckless driving and having an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle following a motor vehicle stop on The Great Road at 9:44 p.m. April 19. He was processed and released.
