Man faces forgery charges

An 18-year-old Bronx, N.Y. resident is facing multiple charges after allegedly trying to pass off counterfeit bills at two businesses on May 15, according to the East Windsor Police Department.

Police were called to ShopRite at the Town Center Plaza on Route 130 to investigate reports of a person attempting to pass off a counterfeit bill. The suspect was also alleged to have tried to pass off a counterfeit bill at The Picture Show movie theater nearby.

The suspect allegedly fled after spotting a police officer but was quickly apprehended. He was charged with two counts of forgery and one count each of obstruction and resisting by flight, police said.

The suspect was taken to the East Windsor Police Department headquarters, processed and released.
