The Mercer County Board of Elections has introduced a new online feature that aims to help voters avoid longer lines, whenever possible.
Voters in Mercer County can now view online how long voting lines are at each of the county’s seven Early Voting locations before traveling to any site.
During Early Voting, voters in Mercer County may vote at any one of the county’s Early Voting Polling Location (as opposed to Election Day, when voters must report to their correct voting location). Therefore, the new online feature, which is available on the Board of Elections’ website – https://updates.electionlink.net/widgets/mercernj/2025-06-10/Vote%20Center%20Wait%20Times.html and gives voters the option of choosing to vote at an Early Voting site with a shorter line.
“We saw how popular Early Voting was during the past November election and wanted to see how we could assist our county’s voters in avoiding longer lines, whenever possible, during the Early Voting period,” said Jill Moyer, chairwoman of the Mercer County Board of Elections. “We consider this another way that we can try to make Early Voting more convenient for the voters of Mercer County.”
The new online feature allows voters to view Mercer County’s Early Voting locations in either a map or list format and will indicate if voting lines are less than 10 minutes, between 10 and 20 minutes, or in excess of 20 minutes. Additionally, voters can access directions to each of the county’s seven Early Voting locations.
Initially, the Board of Elections plans to update this information during peak afternoon and evening times when voting lines might typically increase. However, with the new feature, information can be updated more frequently, should longer lines develop.
“We hope that our county’s voters will find this new tool helpful; and if so, we hope to continue to use this feature for the Early Voting periods in future elections as well,” Moyer said.
